The Federal Foreign Office has increased its humanitarian aid for the Horn of Africa by another 2.5 million euro. The measures financed with these new funds will be targeted at the most urgent needs of those affected in the region.

Every day thousands of people from Somalia arrive at the refugee camps in Kenya and Ethiopia seeking food and water to escape the drought. In many of these camps the humanitarian situation is truly dreadful. The German Government is sending a team from the Federal Agency for Technical Relief (THW) to the region to help build refugee camps in Ethiopia.
