Remarks by Ambassador Wittig to the UN Press Corps on Libya
Feb 22, 2011
W: The violence by the Libyan security forces against peaceful demonstrators is really shocking. It has regional and international implications, so that is why we think it's a case for the Security Council. The Security Council should act with a swift and clear message and that's what we are working on.
Q: And that will be today?
W: We think so. And we will support a very swift action.
Q: Are you considering a no-fly zone?
W: We will be deliberating on how the Council should act but we are very much in favour of a swift and clear message of the Council.
