Tuesday, 12 July, 2011
9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
at the Express Bar, General Assembly Building (3rd floor)
United Nations agencies and NGOs have documented in figures and numbers the widespread phenomenon of attacks on schools and hospitals in situations of armed conflict around the world.
The victims of these attacks, children from across the globe have sent their impressive drawings to New York, speaking out forcefully against this violation of their basic rights and security.
This exhibit tells the story “in their own words”. It sadly but vividly illustrates the urgent need for more international efforts to better protect schools and hospitals from attack.
